A Night in the Library ~ Part II!

The library will be hosting its second high school lock-in December 30-31st. There will be games, snacks and fun for all. Teens had tons of fun at the last lock-in. Space is limited so please be sure to pickup and return your signed permission slips as soon as possible! Don't wait until the last minute.

Teens are to arrive between 10:30-11pm on December 30th and leave at 6:30 am December 31st.

MAG Mondays!

Monday, December 13th from 3:30-4:45 PM we will be hosting an open gaming day at the library for 6th thru 12th graders. There will be a Wii system, *laptops and other games for teens to play. We will also be serving snacks and drinks.
Must have signed parent's permission to use laptops.

High School Cafe

Throughout the school year the library hosts High School Cafe. Every Tuesday & Thursday after school at 3:15 pm all high school age teens are invited into the meeting room. Teens are allowed to have drinks and snacks, listen to music, play video games and get louder than they can in the rest of the library.





There are gaming quality laptops available for use by teens (with signed computer contract) as well. With the free library Wi-Fi, teens can access the internet through their own wireless devices such as iPod Touch, laptops or handheld gaming systems.

MAG Mondays!


Attention teens!


The library will hosting MAG Mondays (Manga, Anime, Gaming) on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Teens in 6th - 12th grade are invited to play video, board and computer games on the 2nd Monday or watch an anime film on the 4th Monday after school.
Feel free to post contructive comments and suggestions. This is your forum use your voice to let your opinions be known.
At this time we do not have a logo for our MAG Mondays. If you are into drawing or graphic design you may create a logo and submit it to the library for consideration. Submissions may either be dropped off at the library or emailed to lill@lmelibrary.org. The logo must represent both Anime and Gaming themes and be library appropriate.

BAA October Mtg.


On October 13th @ 5:15 pm we will be watching a movie and discussing the book. Cirque du Freak: A Living Nightmare by Darren Shan. Refreshments will be provided. Any high school age teen is welcome to participate. We hope to see you there.
Our next book will be the City of Ember. If you are not already a member please contact the library at 309-385-4540 or register online to ensure we have a copy available for you.

Book Addicts Anonymous (BAA)





Book Addicts Anonymous (BAA) is our high school book club. All high school age teens are welcome to participate. BAA reads a variety of fiction and non-fiction books across all genres including books that have been turned into movies. At each meeting teens discuss the books and enjoy some refreshments. Occasionally, we watch a movie before the discussion and compare and contrast it to the book.


BAA members are not required to purchase book club selections. The library borrows enough copies for members to check out.

TeenSpace Blogettiquette

What is the TeenSpace blog?

The TeenSpace blog is a service offered to teens ages 13-18 by the Lillie M. Evans Library District’s TeenSpace Team. This blog is about all the teen and young adult events and services offered here at the library including: Book Addicts Anonymous (teen book club), Teen Library Connection (TLC & TLC, Jr.), High School Cafe and more. The TeenSpace team will post questions, polls, upcoming events and recaps or topics for discussion.

Teens will be able to add comments to posts on the blog. You are encouraged to make suggestions for posts, events, services and content or leave constructive criticism. We prefer you stay anonymous in your posts, but you may use your first name only. Just click on the word “comments” right below the original post to add your comment. The TeenSpace Team must approve it before it will be published.
If you would like to send us a private message, you may send an email to us at lill@lmelibrary.org. If you would like a response, please include your name and contact information.

The TeenSpace team can and will remove and/or edit any inappropriate comments submitted to the blog. If a commenter breaks the blog rules the moderator will no longer permit them to post comments.
